  • Summary

    Courtney Sarah Hayes grew up in Stockton.  She earned her B.A. in International Relations and Political Science, magna cum laude, from University of the Pacific, where she was inducted into the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi honors societies and participated in the Pacific Legal Scholars program.  She received the Ambassador Richard Pederson Award for Academic Excellence in the School of International Studies and was named Outstanding Senior in the Political Science Department.

    Ms. Hayes went on to earn her law degree from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law.  She was awarded the CALI Award for Excellence in Estate Planning and participated in the Medical-Legal Partnership for Seniors elder law clinic, where she provided estate planning and public benefits advocacy to low-income seniors in the Tenderloin community.  She also served as Symposium Editor for the Hastings International and Comparative Law Review. 

    Following law school, Ms. Hayes returned to Stockton to begin her legal career and joined Kroloff in the fall of 2019.  Her primary practice areas include estate planning, trust and estate administration and litigation, business litigation, and medical malpractice defense.

    Representative Matters

    • Represents fiduciaries and beneficiaries in a variety of trust and estate conflicts, including will and trust contests, accounting disputes, and breach of fiduciary duty allegations.

    • Assists executors and administrators in navigating the probate process.

    • Represents trustees, including corporate trustees, in trust administration matters.

    • Represents individuals and various entities in business disputes and litigation, including contract, breach of fiduciary duty, and real property disputes.

    • Represents hospitals, insurers, and physicians in medical malpractice litigation.

  • Personal/Professional Activities

    Ms. Hayes lives in Stockton with her husband. She enjoys riding and training her horses, traveling, and reading.  She is a member of various community organizations including the following:
