Christopher Engh is certified as a specialist in Estate Planning, Trust and Probate law by the State Bar of California.  He advises clients on estate planning and tax issues and helps them develop plans to pass their assets to their beneficiaries in a manner that accomplishes their goals as efficiently as possible.  He prepares both simple and complex Trusts, Wills, and powers of attorney for his clients based on their needs and their goals and develops more sophisticated plans as appropriate, including family business entities such as partnerships and limited liability companies; charitable trusts; intra-family sales and transactions; and irrevocable trusts.

In addition, Mr. Engh:

  • Assists clients with estate and trust administration issues, including handling probate matters and advising trustees about and assisting them in meeting their responsibilities in administering trusts.
  • Handles conflicts that arise in the administration of trusts and estates, including Will and Trust contests; accounting disputes; and breach of fiduciary duty allegations.
  • Represents clients in conservatorship matters, acting as attorney for conservators and as attorney for the conservatees.
  • Addresses real property tax issues that arise in the administration of trusts and estates and in family business entity transactions.

Mr. Engh has been named Super Lawyer® for Estate Planning in Northern California eleven times.  He is the recipient of an AV® Preeminent™ Rating by Martindale-Hubbell.  He is also an adjunct professor of law, Wills & Trusts, Humphreys College, Laurence Drivon School of Law.  Mr. Engh is a member and Past President of the Stockton Estate Planning Council. He also presents continuing education programs on estate planning and administration subjects to lawyers and regularly presents programs on estate planning and administration to other groups.  Mr. Engh has been active in many community nonprofit organizations, including serving as a member and past president of the San Joaquin County Historical Society and Museum Board of Trustees; as a past president of the St. Joseph’s Medical Center Foundation Board of Trustees; and a past member of the Board of Directors of St. Mary’s Dining Room.
